Paseo de San Antonio

The pedestrian walkway from the plaza east to San José State, made from San Antonio Street in 1988.

The Redevelopment Agency closed San Antonio Street to cars east of the plaza in 1988 to create a walking spine through central downtown. Past Second Street it turns diagonally to reach the Swenson Gate of the campus. The Hammer Theatre and the Twohy Building face it, and a light rail station sits where it meets First Street.
