Tower Hall

The 1910 Spanish Colonial Revival building on Washington Square, the oldest on the San José State campus.

The Normal School moved to Washington Square in 1871; its first two buildings were lost to fire and to the 1906 earthquake. Tower Hall was built in 1910, survived the 1960s demolitions after protests by students and alumni, and still holds the 781-seat Morris Dailey Auditorium.
